FHA Appraisal/Inspections Part 2
I blogged previously about the FHA Appraisal/Inspection process and why you should have a professional home inspection. But you may want to know, what exactly does an FHA appraiser look for during their process? Here are some of the things they look at:
- Broken windows
- Peeling paint
- Garage door functionality
- Electrical wiring and outlets
- Functional plumbing, toilets and faucets - plumbing leaks
- Roofing damage
- Structural damage, cracks in the foundation
- Attic spaces, ventilation
This is not a comprehensive list. And it’s somewhat subjective. One appraiser might raise items another may not. And again, this appraisal/inspection process is not as comprehensive as a professional home inspection. Don’t rely on this to make a decision on the biggest purchase of your life.
